I backed the Kone Brewing System on Kickstarter sometime late last year, and yesterday it arrived!
I had actually forgotten about this thing, and so I'm a bit underprepared. My coffee beans are old and I don't have a proper pourover kettle, but it's still a beautiful set to use.
Despite those setbacks it still brewed a pretty good cup of coffee. I'll admit that some of that is probably the satisfaction that goes into the work, but I'm okay with that. This is a hobby of mine that I find relaxing to spend time doing, and watching the grounds bubble up is lovely.
It can also brew more than my Aeropress, so I'm going to pick up a nice bag of beans, a proper pour-over kettle, and start bringing it to work in a thermos. I've been blowing way too much money on Starbucks and Dark Horse lately.
